Sea otter shoots hoops to ease arthritis pain
Exercise doesn’t just help humans suffering from arthritis pain, it helps geriatric sea otters too.
Meet Eddie the sea otter. He is a rescue from the coast of California and has been taught to rise out of the water and dunk an otter-sized basketball to exercise his arthritic elbows.
Maybe you can borrow a page from Eddie’s playbook and get out and enjoy some physical activity. You will feel better.
3 DIY projects using 2-liter plastic soda bottles
Confession — I love soda. Specifically, Diet Coke.
Yeah yeah, it’s terrible for you. I know this, but it’s my vice.
The good news is that there are a great many DIY projects that can utilize empty 2-liter soda bottles. The following three projects are some of my current favorites.
Epic DIY Imperial AT-AT Walker on a tandem bicycle
Did you know that those Imperial AT-AT Walkers that assaulted the Rebel base on Hoth were pedal powered?
Well, they probably weren’t, actually, but if the Empire could have figured out how to implement it, I’m sure they would have. You know, Darth Sidius (the Emperor) and Darth Vader really were pretty forward thinking folks.
How busy parents can have healthy kids
If you have kids, you know how hectic being a parent can be.
If you have kids and a job that keeps you busy, chances are, sometimes certain sacrifices have to be made because there simply isn’t enough time. How many times have you sped into a McDonald’s drive-thru on your way home because you didn’t have time to cook supper?

The BEST tool for keeping your reusable bottle clean
Reusable water bottles rock. They make sense environmentally and monetarily. Using a reusable water bottle that is BPA-free, stainless steel, or glass makes it easy to fill up and hydrate in health- and eco-friendly fashion no matter where you find yourself.
Unfortunately, keeping those reusable water bottles clean is not as easy as it may seem.
Many popular “natural” water bottle cleaning techniques can still leave a nasty film on the inside of your bottle. The majority of water bottle brushes have such stiff bristles that they can scratch the inside of your bottle, creating tiny havens for bacteria to thrive.

It’s not really the fat; our fat-phobia is waning. But ALL bacon contains nitrates, and these can convert to nitrosamines, known human carcinogens. Even “uncured” or “nitrate-free” bacon contains nitrates.
In fact, some nitrate-free bacon has up to three times more than its conventional counterparts.
Why?

Tasty Valentine’s Day recipe: Cacao heart tart
I love chocolate just as much as the next gal, and it’s important to me to buy organic and fair trade chocolate, but that can be challenging to find at times.
No worries, homemade chocolate treats taste so much better than the store bought, pre-packaged, and processed kind anyway.
